A Disgusting Truth About Snake Charmers

Have you ever wondered how snake charmers always seem to avoid getting bitten?

Many of them will probably tell you it's because their cobras have been fully tamed, which I'm sure is true at least some of the time. However, there is a much darker reason for why the people who own these snakes aren't that worried about being injected with venom.
Take this man, for example. At first glance, he seems amazingly brave (and really stupid) for getting into a bathtub with two huge king cobras.

What's even more astounding is that the snakes look like they aren't trying to hurt him at all.

Unfortunately, the reality is that their mouths are likely sewn shut or their teeth have been removed. This is a common practice among snake charmers in India to prevent them from biting.

What's worse is that the snakes slowly starve to death as a result.
